Light at the end of the middle of February
Switching to lighter coloured denim to cheer myself up
It’s absolutely chucking it down with rain here on the Sussex coast and the wind is contorting the trees into whiplash spikes. It truly is AWFUL- If you have to go out today. This sort of weather feels like the worst of Winter - when you lull yourself into thinking Spring bulbs are poking out and bare ankles are just an “April Away”, and then, 4 hours later, it snows.
I’m packing for a holiday and have that perennial concern about what to travel in, given that I will be stood for some time on a draughty station platform on the way out, as well as it being late at night, on the return trip. It feels crazy to have to carry a heavy Winter hat and coat around, when you know you’ll be landing somewhere balmy 3 hours later…but there we have it - what to take and what to leave behind.
Today I attempted to cheer myself out of the rainy day doldrums by shifting into light coloured denim. These are the my favourites - the best jeans cut EVER for me -and they’re from Marks & Spencers - they seemed to have nailed it where hourglass and pear-shaped bodies are concerned, and M&S seem to have a great denim design team, when it comes to cuts and dye finishes.
This design is high-waisted and easy on the thigh and then tapers tighter to the ankles - it’s called the MoM fit. They sell it all year round in different leng lengths and shades. I have them in Black too and they are so comfortable, and can be smartened up with a pretty shoe.
